New month, new theme. In May, each day I will post a photo I’ve taken from a city I’ve visited, listing them in alphabetical order. Some images are scenic iconic views; others are more of an impression of the city’s flavor. There will be minimal verbiage (although I’m happy to give more details if asked; none of that “post without comment” stuff here!). #31days31cities

May 29: Tangier, Morocco (2011). One of the many beautifully decorated doors in the Kasbah
May 30: Ulaanbaator, Mongolia (2007). An ovoo — a sacred stone heap used as a shrine in Mongolian folk religious practice — just outside the capital city. When traveling, it is customary to stop and circle an ovoo three times, moving clockwise, in order to have a safer journey.
